If you only read three things this week...
Hello hello! Ah, the night before tomorrow. That moment before a big trip when time catches up with your to do list and the certainty crumbles. Or, to put it less poetically, you can't find the spare cable, keep checking your passport and wonder why you're always so behind with the laundry. Right now, I’m surrounded by lists, lenses and piles of clothes and a faint but growing suspicion I’ve forgotten something crucial. (Permits? Sanity? We’ll find out.) Because tomorrow, I’m off. A week-long solo road trip through Nova Scotia: just me, the open road and as many wild coastal stories as I can find as part of a gorgeous project with Tourism Nova Scotia [Ad] This isn’t just another trip, though. It marks a shift. After two and a half years, it's time for me to hang up my digital hat as Head of Digital at Bradt Guides and embrace the fully freelance life again. I'm so thankful for the chance to meet and work with so many brilliant, creative people and I'm so proud of the whole digital team (with a lovely recognition via the TravMedia Best Website Award shortlist earlier this spring!) But the open road is calling and it’s time for something new. Over on the blog, things are buzzing with colour and craft from Sri Lanka. The new features explore the intricate arts and artisan traditions of the tear drop island and the voyage into YouTube continues. 🎨 Read the full Sri Lanka series here: 🎥 Watch the new video on travel to North Sri Lanka: And if you want to see Nova Scotia unfold in real time: waves crashing, lighthouses blinking, coffee spills in the rental car, then follow along on social: I’ll be sharing live updates and behind-the-scenes chaos in all the usual places. The travel might be solo, but you’re very much invited to come along for the ride. Until then, wish me luck with the packing. And the weather. And the SatNav. Cheers, Abi PS - Even bigger news coming soon, so stay tuned!

Inside the Travel Lab If you only read three things this week... Hello hello! Happy Birthday to Me! 🥂 I've been quieter than usual on social media lately, but I haven’t been idle. I’ve spent the first part of the year taking a look at all the AI inspired changes in the digital world and it's made me rethink a few things. I'm realising that the best travel stories - the ones that are a little more poetic, a little more thought provoking - need a new home. So that's what I've been working on...
